Botero Botero was a Columbian artist who had a very distinct style and exaggerating and playing with volume in his works #mermay #mermay2026
8-bit Pixel art! So much of today's prompt was looking up how to do pixel art and what not to do (like doubles and jaggies which I think i mostly managed to avoid) #mermay #mermay2026
Trying to sing a sea shanty Sea shanties are songs traditionally sung on ships to help coordinate labor. I looked some up for this prompt and they're so fun! #mermay #mermay2026
Non-dominant hand This was hard!! I tried to focus a little more on lighting rather than linework #mermay2026 #mermay
Miami Vibes I wanted to draw something with bright colors for today's prompt so I went with an aperol spritz since I really like how the red-orange contrasts with the blue-green! #mermay2026 #mermay
Collection Here's a mermaid chilling in hot cocoa 🍫 This is less related to the prompt than it is to my MerMay illustrations in general! I've been trying to draw a collection of mermaids in different drinks so I took the opportunity to add to it with this prompt! #mermay #mermay2026
Booktok Maomao, Xiaolan, and Shisui found some snacks! Want some? #mermay #mermay2026 #apothecarydiaries
Endangered pt 2 The vaquita is the world's smallest porpoise and the most endangered mammal in the world, with an estimated less than ten remaining. They're found in the Gulf of California, Mexico and are often caught in gillnets as a bycatch. #mermay #mermay2026
Endangered pt 1 I couldn't think of what to draw for muppets when I was thinking of ideas for the prompts but when I looked up endangered, I couldn't decide on what I wanted to draw so I decided to work on two parts for endangered. #mermay2026 #mermay
Bride I wanted to try drawing a traditional Chinese wedding dress, the qun kwa. The design is usually done with phoenixes and dragons and other good luck symbols but I thought it would be cute with a sea theme 😊 #mermay #mermay2026
The Moon Goddess pt. 1 For Mer-thology, I wanted to draw Chang'e, the Chinese goddess of the moon 🌙 #mermay #mermay2026
My Little(?) Merpony I wanted to try drawing a merhorse in motion! I thought it would be cool to keep the values in greyscale to have a more comic-like feel to it For some reason, I also thought it was a good idea to practice drawing armor... 😅 #mermay #mermay2026
☢️ Caution: Keep Out ☢️ Here's a radioactive mermaid for day 8 💚 I saw the idea of caution tapes as a background when I was watching a Saito Naoki video and thought that it would fit as a foreground element here so I wanted to try it! #mermay #mermay2026
Kpop photocard Tried keeping it a bit simpler today! I want to work on my fundamentals a bit more though #mermay2026 #mermay
Mermaids in Water Impressionism is my favorite art movement so I was excited for this prompt! I wanted to try drawing a peaceful pond with mermaids swimming in it 🩵 #mermay #mermay2026
Handmade Two mermaids decorating a cake underwater 🎂 I wish I spent a bit more time refining the sketch before rendering through #mermay #mermay2026
Childhood Crush I wasn't sure what to draw for this one but ended up going into my fanart want-to-draws and drawing a Anya v. Damian POV and their contrasting views of what's happening 😂 #mermay #mermay2026
Hello! 🤗 It's MerMay!! 🌊 It's so fun to come up with different ideas for the prompts and I love experimenting with different styles and ideas I might not normally do 🩵 #mermay2026
