www.smh.com.au/politics/fed... I remember when Turnbull became PM, I thought "well at least we could have a prime minister we can be proud of". And I'm a Labor man. I could never understand why he joined the Libs. It didn't last long. The conservatives soon knobled him. Then we got Scomo. Ugh.

‘They’ve lost their way’: Turnbull unveils portrait, lets rip at former party

Anthony Albanese revealed that Malcolm Turnbull had reached out to comfort him at a difficult time in his personal life.

www.smh.com.au/politics/fed... Well, now we have the Liberals reverting back to type, faced with irrelevance. So what do they have to offer? Cuts in migration. Vague promises about lowering the cost of electricity. Not much else. Hardly something to build a platform on. One Nation lite!

Weak Liberal Party ‘moderates’ as shameless as internal net zero opponents

Any moderate with a shred of self-respect would step off the frontbench in protest at what has unfolded.

www.smh.com.au/politics/fed... To me, the solution is simple. Leave the marriage of convenience with the Nats. Let the far right join Hanson. Allign with the Teals. The Nats will become irrelevant, and the far right will find their natural home. The choice then becomes a 3 party race.

Hastie threat emerges as Ley fights to hold Coalition together

The opposition leader is being pushed towards dumping the Liberal Party’s net zero pledge as she fights to keep the Coalition together – and for her leadership.

You know what. Hamas is a really horrible terrorist group. If anything is going to derail the peace talks, it's them. They cannot be allowed to continue operating in Gaza and beyond. This is not to distract from all the terrible things Israel have done.

So, the Liberal party is losing support to One Nation. Apparently, the Libs are not right wing enough. Moving to the sensible centre (where most elections are won) has upset the racist base. How not surprising.

www.smh.com.au/world/middle... Whilst all reasonable people, and I'm one of them, will welcome this deal, the true test will be time. Will Israel cease the illegal settlements in the West Bank? Will the systematic persecution of Palestinians cease? Can both sides live side by side in peace?

Israel approves Gaza ceasefire and hostage deal with Hamas

Israeli government has approved the framework for a Gaza ceasefire and hostage deal, the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said early on Friday.

www.smh.com.au/politics/fed... Oh, what a delicate little snowflake is the President. And I'm sure Albo will not reprimand John. But right on cue, we have Canavan siding with Trump. If anyone is a traitor to his country, it's him. Enjoy the Opposition back benches, Matt. You'll be there long.

‘He was going to dob on me’: ABC journalist speaks after Trump threats

One Australian minister backed journalists’ right to ask “tough questions”, but Nationals MP Matt Canavan said the ABC’s US investigation was a waste of money.

Once again, America has experienced political violence, resulting in the death of an influential person. This is all too common and inevitable in a society that prioritises guns over public safety. Unfortunately, the situation will not change until vested interests are taken out of the equation.

Well, the LNP are no more, for the time being. In an incredible act of self harm, The Nationals have decided to split, for reasons only they can know. So, no Nats on the front bench in shadow ministries, effectively now cross benchers, no imput in policy and no prospect of forming government.
