The novel was part of a remarkable collaboration between Jilan, Birgit Weyhe (the artist and primary author), as well as myself, Charlotte Schallie (the PI of the Survivor Centred Visual Narratives project), and Leyla - our community liaison with the Yezidi community in Germany.

Traurige Nachricht: Nun ist die Holocaust-Überlebende Rose Lipszyc gestorben. Sie hat als junges Mädchen überlebt, indem sie sich als nichtjüdische Polin getarnt zur Zwangsarbeit in Deutschland gemeldet und bis Kriegsende in Bremen unter falscher Identität in einer Tauwerkefabrik gearbeitet hat.
