In May, we hosted the workshop 'After Sendai: Governing Global Catastrophic Risk in the Emerging Global Order', co-convened by Kennedy Mbeva, Elena Kavanagh & Reuben Makomere. The workshop brought together researchers to explore the future of catastrophic risk governance beyond 2030.

The current Ebola outbreak, alongside a recent hantavirus incident in a very different setting, is a reminder of how outbreak risk is actually unfolding today. As both a researcher in this space and someone who has worked in outbreak response, this pattern is becoming increasingly familiar.
