Pay them what you owe them! The Connecticut labor movement was proud to stand with members of the WNBPA at the Connecticut Sun game as they fight for a fair contract. Respect the players by paying them their fair share. (And the Connecticut Sun won 87-84!)
Under Reagan's tax cuts, the average tax cut for the top 1% was 68x larger than the average cut for middle-class households. Under Bush's tax cuts, it was 16x larger. And under Trump, 36x larger. The GOP has always governed for the privileged few.
The day after Lamont vetoed #UIforStrikingWorkers in CT, the Governor of Oregon signed a similar bill into law! And the Governor of Washington State signed their version into law last month. Protecting working people has only become more urgent since the Trump Administration has gutted the NLRB.
Another interesting (bad) move by Gov. Lamont. This is the second year in a row he's vetoed UI for striking workers legislation. Such a let down. 👎

At a moment when many working people feel ignored by both major political parties, this is a unique and meaningful opportunity for Gov. Ned Lamont to demonstrate his commitment to working class voters by enacting policies that protect them and their jobs.
The State House just passed UI for Striking Workers! The passage of this bill in both chambers with a bipartisan vote marks a critical victory for working people in our state. Now it's on Gov. Lamont to do the right thing. He can either stand with corporate CEOs or stand with working people.
