A country actively hostile to science has enabled Drexel to close a 200-year-old museum for “financial reasons”. I personally refuse to believe they had no choice but to do this. Money always flows in the direction where priorities are set. This is devastating.
I feel like I’m going to throw up
I know the fault of the closing of the Academy of Natural Sciences lies with Drexel University but I called to complain to the Mayor anyway. If I learn of something more useful to do I'll let you know. Her office number is (215) 686-2181 Saving the museum would be great PR for her (she needs it).
I feel like I’m going to throw up
It appears that the oldest natural history institute in the United States - the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia - is closing. A real shame and not something I fully understand or can comprehend. #naturalhistory #museums drexel.edu/news/archive...

A week ago I found out that the grant I was confident would fund our spring mural will not, bc we're 2 blocks too deep into Kensington. This STINKS. This project rocks bc it's community driven, biodiversity-focused (& more! read on!) We're raising money to make it happen givebutter.com/KenzoMural
