frankelda is honestly one of the most beautiful and important animated movies I've seen ever. One of the big themes of the movie is artistic plagiarism and that's rlly important right now with how rampant creative theft is nowadays because of ai. Literally cried tears of joy seeing this #animation

An actual writer or artist or programmer etc can dust off something they made a decade ago and go "let's see what a decade of learning does to this" Someone who outsourced their learning to the gacha machine made of plagiarism and CSAM, *have nothing to revisit* and *no skills learned since*

Some academics turn up their noses at movie adaptations or popular history books, but I call them "gateway drugs" into deeper scholarship. How many of us fell in love with history because a movie (or book) sparked our curiosity first? For me, it was Amadeus - it sent me down an 18thC rabbit hole.
