Your little oopsie "mistakes" had me worrying for a year of my life about my partner going to jail for up to a decade based on lies likely fed to you by the top of the federal government. Show everyone what you're covering up in these emails and texts. There's a reason you don't want them released.

Boutros acknowledges 'mistakes' in 'Broadview 6' case but says sanctions, special counsel aren't needed

It's a baked-in assumption that the person being confronted *will* be trans, and that they will immediately comply, even though there is no means of enforcement whatsoever. What if the person is cis? What if they're trans and just lie? This situation genuinely appears to be beyond their imagination.

There a million things wrong with the EHRC guidance, as you all know, but for me the weirdest thing about it all is that its authors don't even seem to be aware of the possibility that someone asked to leave a "single sex" facility might refuse.

The media's takeaway from an El-Sayed win is the same as it would have been from a Stevens win, and the same as it will be if El-Sayed wins the general, or if he loses it: everyone, no matter who they are, needs to take several steps to the right.

Elon Musk said lots of antisemitic things and shared lots of antisemitic posts written by antisemites and then sprinkled on some sugar with two nazi salutes on telly and Jonathan Greenblatt said "no he's alright, he isn't one" and now has spent over a year painting Zohran Mamdani as Hitler Part II.

I am not that old. In the early years of my career before i comprehensively put my foot down i would regularly find books in my work mailbox with notes from male colleagues instructing me to copy this chapter or that for them

Because admin staff were mostly women, female academics were considered equivalent. There to perform service, not to undertake intellectual work. Of course it was more complex than this, but that's the broad picture. #AcademicSky

British media trying to pull a Charlie Kirk over a dead racist pedophile wife-beater is just more proof that ruthlessly and brutally denazifying British news media is going to be important.

She had lots and lots of help: $60M in outside spending plus the endorsement of pretty much every Democrat in Michigan. All of that help, and she still lost, yet we're constantly force-fed the lie that "she's the most electable candidate." The results say otherwise.

"On October 30, 1924, Midgley participated in a press conference to demonstrate the apparent safety of TEL, in which he poured TEL over his hands, placed a bottle of the chemical under his nose, and inhaled its vapor for sixty seconds, declaring that he could do this every day"

"However, within the first two months of its operation, the new plant was plagued by more cases of lead poisoning, hallucinations, insanity, and five deaths." By 1925 leaded gasoline was already literally killing the people who made it, including the guy who invented it

Had fluorine chemistry been just a tiny bit less hellishly difficult, had it been just a little bit less likely to blow you up when playing with it, the world would be very very different. Inhospitable to human life by now, different.

So. Imagine if humanity had started using CFC's closer to 1812. A century before even knowing the ozone layer existed. And like 70 years before being able to actually monitor it. Imagine what *173* years of CFC's would have done.

It took until 1985 in our world to discover that the ozone layer was being depleted, 72 years after discovering the ozone layer in the first place. Which was only about *50 years* after Thomas Midgley's other big invention (the other was leaded gasoline).

In that world, where humanity isolates fluorine in like 1812, CFC's could have definitely been created and used commercially *during the 19th century*. The 19th century, where people famously gave a fuck about pollution.

Fun fact: humanity could very easily have figured out a way to do fluorine chemistry without blowing yourself up, much earlier. Moissan isolated elemental fluorine in 1886, this could have happened almost a century earlier had chemists been better at not blowing themselves up trying it.

joker: how about a magic trick? i’m gonna make this pencil disappear (pencil falls over and joker slams the guys head into the table) joker: hold on let me set up the pencil again you jiggled the table
