Posting this cuz I think it's so damn weird/interesting that the guy who invented THE sexy rapey monsterguy of the Silent Hill franchise says "I didn't mean it like that" about his famous scene. Sometimes you can be a little "uh huh... sure dude" at creators (video is still at 99k views 👀 hrnnnghh)

I like... actually don't believe him when he says this scene is not meant to be sexually evocative. That's a bit absurd to me! I didn't want to get in the weeds on this in the video (for pacing reasons) so I skimmed past it, but this isn't a "do your research" thing, lol. I know this, I just don't find it to be the end of the conversation. If the developers somehow actually, earnestly, legitimately meant for this scene to NOT look like PH was bangin two monsters (especially with the Blue Velvet nod... Kyle Maclachlan's character was watching sex stuff through the closet door), then buddy, you fucked up your own thing! Y'all shoulda focus tested it slightly and asked "does this look sexual to anybody? Oops! Maybe it shouldn't have lady legs everywhere and PH is holding them up with his pelvis lined up in a certain way and the camera positioned so that it all evokes a sex scene! Maybe we should alter this a bit so people don't get the wrong idea!" Like, I just find it *real* hard to believe that this is a completely chastely-intentioned scene. But regardless of intention, the result is "this looks like sexual violence, not regular violence." This is all made even more spurious when you consider how PH's bossfight in this level starts, with him holding a patient demon in a sexual position, while a prominent "OHHHh~" can be heard. Like, really? Okay.... sure....... I retain my righteous sass, thank you!

The full story is dumber. Crowley basically broke into the headquarters of a hermetic organization. To keep him from coming in an stealing magical secrets, the group started casting spells at him. He cast spells back. Yeats apparently went "Fuck this" and just booted Crowley down the stairs.

Students made their first minicomics in my intro making course - mostly standard format but this student, a first time maker(!), did something so off the charts I’m still reeling from it! & he made like 12 of them for his classmates! A paper engineering feat of flipbookery as well as killer drawing!
