Dad, borderline minimalist, deeply unfashionable, a rare commodity, sneaky strong. Cambridge, MA, walk/bike program manager. Comments are mine.
Thanks to our friends in BTD, Planning Department, and DCR for paths, bike share, and development that combine for a lovely and bikeable Neponset Greenway!
@mbta.com Green Line C Branch stations looking really wonderful. Wider, accessible platforms with e-ink countdown display. Still under construction and I assume a canopy to come. Photos taken at Englewood.
Big day for the Schmidts: we passed the 10k-mile mark on our e-bike! 🥳 Shuttling my son to school and back, and many errands and fun trips between, it’s no understatement to say our lifestyle over the past five years is only possible with an e-bike. Fun to watch the odometer reset!

#Broadway separated bike lane striping happening between Fawcett and Columbia in @cambridgemass.bsky.social
What a frustrating article, which makes Culbert St sound pastoral. The development fronts Blue Hill Avenue, with a side on Culbert. Culbert is a literal stone’s throw from the BHA Fairmount line entrance, and high frequency 28 and 31 buses. Within a minute walk, one is at shops and services.

Welcome, Center Plaza, to the @cambridgemass.bsky.social @ridebluebikes.bsky.social family! The 96th station in Cambridge, it sits next to the Kittie Knox station—for now. It will move to Center Plaza once the Eversource substation is complete.
Trump’s war on science comes for bikes and Vision Zero. Proven Safety Countermeasures are a set of street design tools that FHWA career engineers judge to have been proven to improve safety. They delisted Bike Lanes, Road Diets, and three speed management tools. highways.dot.gov/safety/prove...
We have to support this amazing family as we all mourn the unspeakable loss of a shining light in our city. Wear yellow if possible 💛
Louisa’s death is a tremendous and senseless loss for the region. I’ve known her for years. I worked with her near daily up until her death. She was kind, empathetic, charismatic, and sharp. I am somehow both numb and incredibly angry. Boston, we have lost one of our absolute best and brightest.
A cycling advocate and transportation planner for the city of Boston was identified as the cyclist who was struck and killed in a crash near Roxbury Crossing this morning.

Easily the neatest dining experience I’ve ever had. Overlooking Tokyo from Mount Takao!
#Broadway in @cambridgemass.bsky.social is getting ready for its glow up. Street is milled, sidewalks and curb ramps are in progress, and new bricks about to be placed.
A Boston bike commuter posted a video on reddit of nearly being killed by a speeding pick-up truck driver racing to a red light. Something non-cyclists probably don't realize is that it's not uncommon for riders to have multiple encounters like this on a ride. Source: www.reddit.com/r/bikecommut...
Two new @ridebluebikes.bsky.social stations launched in @cambridgemass.bsky.social: 125 Cambridgepark Dr (Alewife) and Broad Canal Way North (Kendall, pictured). These are stations 94 and 95 in Cambridge. Will we hit 100 this year? 👀
