Both companies are evil and wrong for different and myriad things, but this morning Apple sucks because Google lets you dismiss an upcoming alarm from your notifications. Apple forces you to either let it ring first, or toggle it off in Alarms, where I will surely forget to turn it back on

Ed Sheeran crying and saying he thought about quitting music over criticism towards his bitch ass non-stance (which is a stance, btw) is a new level of white fragility and self-victimization my god. 21,000 kids dead but yes, your tour almost not happening is the real tragedy

Funked up my knee somehow yesterday whilst massaging, and I put heat on it before and after supper. No pain on the walk to the gym, workout went fine, walk back was great. It’s a little tender now I’m back home, so I will indulge in some more heating pad time 🍗

I did not have “Gillian Anderson takes lots of baths” on my Hannibal s3 bingo card. What a lovely counterpoint to the blood and gore and darkness. Also: having your hair washed is so tender and intimate 💆

Hannibal season two was fun and gorgeous, but the plot was often preposterous and the fact that every female character was reduced to a plot device was upsetting. We can write queer romance and still have realistic women who are full and complete characters and not just accessories to a male story

Workout challenges this week: fucking myself up with a maladjusted VR headset, getting overwhelmed at the crowdedness of the gym last session, and utterly failing to notice the signs announcing today’s planned closure for building work lol. Better luck next week!

Skipping an exercise in my workout because someone else is taking forever on the thing is challenging my tendency toward all-or-nothing thinking. One skipped exercise does NOT, in fact, undo the hour+ of sweat and work I got up to. The hour+ of feeling firmly grounded in my body in motion.

Been going to the gym regularly since June and I'm still mad at how much it positively affects my mental health. Most of that anger is at how access to joyful movement is limited, at how most gyms are hostile spaces to fat bodies, and how we as a society need to be better educated on this topic

I wore a sleeveless top to give a massage today and I kept checking out my deltoids in the mirror. Feeling thankful that a) my client was face down and missed these moments of vanity and b) that I don't need to look at what I'm doing to give a great massage.
