British Gas resumes force-fitting prepay meters months after £112m settlement. With escalating energy, rents and food bills; and frozen income tax thresholds more people will struggle to heat or eat. More pressure on GPs, hospitals, public services. Squalor is a political choice.

Left: Nigel Farage lays a wreath at the Cenotaph for Remembrance Day Right: Peter Ettedgui, "Farage repeatedly coming up to me and knowing that I am Jewish saying 'Hitler was right' and 'gas them' which was frequently followed by a hissing sound of escaping gas"

"Not being in the European Union is saving us net £200million a week. That is a fact," Nigel Farage tells the BBC. This is a complete lie. Brexit has already cost the UK economy hundreds of billions of pounds

This is the world we live in nowadays. Of all the days to talk about spending *even more* money on 'defence', Sky News chooses Remembrance Sunday. And for extra insensitivity, the only choices presented as to 'where the money should come from' are pensions and benefits.

The panel doesn't question whether we need to spend more on bombs. Oh no. Instead they discuss where the money has to come from. And you don't need to watch the clip to know what they say.

Idiots "Being against AI is like being against the Industrial Revolution." Industrial Revolution provided Electricity, clean water, jobs, cheap clothes, mass transport, telephone lines... AI provides slop, takes jobs and all the water, electricity and gas.

Palantir have paid huge sums to former Labour ministers to lobby for this. The NHS sees no convincing patient benefit. Like the US told Trump this week, we're done with big tech corporations taking over our democracy and public assets. Labour won't stand up to them. We will.

People have asked me how I feel about nominating Russell Brand a “hero” in 2014. I feel very bad about it. It must have piled on the pain for his victims. I apologise to them. Though there was nothing published about his crimes at the time, I should have read the signs better. I failed to do so.

🚨JUST IN: MSNOW’s Jacob Soboroff just eviscerated Stephen Miller, laying out the horrific details of how he masterminded Trump’s most demented policies. Miller is single-handedly responsible for Renee Good and Alex Pretti’s deaths. I had no idea it’s even worse: @Calltoactivism

"In Sheffield, the Green Group have stood firmly by their principles, and are continuing to put residents above political point-scoring." "Burnham’s authoritarian diktat has angered councillors and residents across the country, including those in his own party." Full response⤵️

“The Labour Party leadership’s support for Israel seems to have no limit – arming a genocide, locking up pensioners for holding up pieces of paper, and now attempting to disrupt successful local partnerships from delivering for residents. The Green Party has been clear that local people know what is best for their communities – and they’re proving us right.”

Despite spending billions, "there is only evidence of a modest AI-driven rise in UK productivity growth", says Bank of England. There are limits to technology. Companies/Govts need to invest in worker skills. Technology shares are overpriced and shake-up is overdue.
