I may have missed discourse on this but absolutely loved the scary movie 6 (or possibly 7) beginning their theatrical trailer with Michael Jackson and the tagline “the only star who truly touched his fans.” Big up fair use for parody
Backrooms is so good. Sooooo good. Really captures the aesthetic and affective allure of the original creepypasta. There’s been a lot of focus on liminality and men in therapy, but the film seems as interested in hypermediacy and our cultural relationship to technology.

Someone I know, who I will not name despite very much wanting to, waxes lyrical about the dangers of AI in writing, and worries deeply about students using it, only to illustrate articles and produce videos with very *very* obviously GenAI art. Unbearable stuff happening.

Finding the slow breakdown of Starmer’s government quite amusing. Please no return to the lettuce though. It was funny at the time, then became an infuriating symbol of online liberalism paraded by people more keen to criticise Lady Jane Truss than the then and also now prime minister Keir Starmer.
Saw Deborah Lipstadt giving a talk at the watershed in 2019, in which she compared Jeremy Corbyn with Trump. I was 18 and trying to get my head around international politics at the time, and bought her book, which I thankfully never read.

People seem to be getting a bit more switched on. So if you have any of that stuff, you might want to reupp it.

It’s weird seeing your face on election leaflets, but I’m really proud to be standing as a candidate in the area I grew up, where for the first time in decades a party other than Labour has a real chance of winning.
