Australia’s eSafety commissioner buried a report (released Friday afternoon) that shows the under 16 social media ban didn’t tangibly reduce teen social media use, and also resulted in parents tuning out of kids usage. We traded our privacy for no reason. theconversation.com/more-than-80...

More than 80% of kids still using social media despite ban, new eSafety report finds

The report provides more evidence Australia’s world-leading social media ban isn’t going to plan.

The Daily Telegraph has raced through all five stages of climate denial this week. But this is, perhaps, the most ridiculous column so far: "Without minimising the severe downsides…especially on some poorer nations, many in Britain would enjoy the kind of warmer climate predicted by modellers..."

I've confirmed that the UK's new Sovereign AI Fund does no due diligence on whether AI companies use copyrighted work without permission before investing in them. It took me 3 Freedom of Information requests to find this out: 🧵 1/10

John Woodcock resigned from Labour in 2018 to end an investigation against him into sexual harrassment, that involved his alleged victim resigning her job. But what do women's rights actually matter to JK Rowling when he's on her side when it comes to proscribing uppity trans people, eh? 1/

I wrote about Bash Back in the Times today - they should be banned like Palestine Action

A judge is moving to sentence five Palestine Action protesters who spray-painted a Barclays branch as terrorists. They were not charged with terror offences and the jury was not told that they could face terrorism-related sentences if convicted of criminal damage www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

Home Office genuinely needs to be abolished and its responsibilities split up, with immigration and asylum under an independent authority. Even by its low standards, standards which are being supported by the reappointment of Mahmood by Burnham, this is sickening. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

We were outside Parliament this morning to demand Andy Burnham says NO to new oil and gas. Giving the green light to new UK oil and gas is a death sentence for us & a win for oily elites. Oil from fields like Rosebank won't secure new jobs and won't provide energy security.

The kind of shit that makes your blood boil. "The third time Anna Liedtke was subjected to an illegal strip-search in Israeli detention, female prison guards forced her on to her knees, covered her mouth to stop her screaming and raped her" www.theguardian.com/world/2026/j...

I don't know what British law is in these cases, but I know for a fact that teachers in my province are ignoring a law that would make us forcibly out trans kids to their parents.

Just had meeting with kiddo's school. She has been fully supported, treated with full equality & dignity for years. All of that changes from September. Full segregation & humiliation across the board. The school staff cried in the meeting. This will absolutely lead to children's deaths 1/2

If you're unable to stand your ground when disingenuously attacked by bigots over some stupid minor point or technicality – just don't wade into trans rights discussions. Giving GCs the win of retracting your report is worse than never having released it in the first place.
