One time I ran a one-shot inside of my longer Blades in the Dark game where we played out three factions fighting over a strategic volcanic island northeast of Duskvol by playing King of Tokyo and then playing out a vignette from Firebrands every time someone new took Tokyo or played a card.

I don’t know what to tell you, man. I’m a medieval historian, and, in my field, if you don’t check your sources (and your sources’ sources) you are just asking to be taken for a ride by some bored 19th C. aristocratic English antiquarian with a penchant for inventing history.

I frankly can't believe how goddam genius this idea is How RPGs could have developed without wargaming roots is a subject that deserves direct deep analysis and experimentation and I respectfully submit that we call the field "original finishes."
