Mom Bike Rider Stoop Sitter Thin Sliced Cheese Hater Unapologetic Enya Fan I like walkable communities and safe streets for everyone. We can have nice things!
20 years ago practically no one wore helmets skiing and snowboarding. Now everyone does. Why? Because they reduce the chance of head injuries. If we get kids and teens wearing a helmet from a young age it becomes a moot point because they’ll prob wear one as an adult. 1/3
You are all wrong. The helmet answer is contingent on the question. Should bike advocates waste messaging bandwidth on helmet campaigns? Probably not. Should helmets be required by law? Definitely not. Should you, considering only your own welfare, wear a helmet? It's often a good idea.
The footage of this flash flood, circulating on social media, is possibly the most horrifying I've seen of any climate impact. Great to see NPR highlighting the cause without any hedging.
The disaster is linked to climate change, with experts noting the region's vulnerability to extreme weather. n.pr/4cvl1On

Deciding whether to embrace the darkness and buy a 14 disc box set of The Wiggles for my toddler.
I need an antiques roadshow but for the garbage that millennials are inheriting.
Today’s visitors to the sunflowers included lots of native bees, goldfinches, and a monarch. #backyardwilderness
Be a Laurie. I think Laurie is probably sleeping pretty dang well at night
“I know this is going to sound extremely radical, or crazy,” she recounted telling the woman, “but ICE is there at the gate, and they're looking for you."
Grey tree frog in the raised garden bed! First one I have seen here. 🐸
Here are things that happened at the DNC today: 1) Resolution calling to abolish ICE unanimously adopted 2) Brand-new early state calendar that reflects the full diversity of the Democratic base 3) Rejection of insider efforts to ban RCV from being used in presidential primaries Great results here
Catching up on Reacher that is the cleanest BSL car I have ever seen.
"In their seminal book Life After Cars, journalists Aaron Naparstek, Doug Gordon and Sarah Goodyear write that the noise, pollution, and epidemic of violent death brought to our streets by cars have become so ubiquitous that we no longer even notice them."
Opinion: Cars are the biggest threat on the road, not kids on e-scooters
All the outrage we feel about teens weaving on e-bikes and scooters would be better spent figuring out how to keep massive motorized vehicles away from all other road users

AOC: Millennials are not punk kids anymore. We're grown adults with mortgages and kids, and that generation is starting to be decisive at the polls. And there is anger at being ignored, having our economic futures mortgaged by the generations that came before us and we're taking the reins
Missing my #26 Boo? Fuck You shirt right now. #walloffamer
If you bought a t-shirt in the 90s it was a decent quality and $10. If you buy one now the quality is absolute shit but you can still get it for around $10. The same quality of the 90s is $30+. But sometimes the $30+ shirt is shit too so people just buy the $10 shirt.
I think my most genuinely unpopular take is that a widely held and genuine consumer preference for cheaper, lower-quality goods, not private equity, is driving the decline in quality of consumer goods like clothing and housewares.
Parents face incredible anxiety when it comes to caring for their kids. MediKids is the guarantee I think our country needs.
People get hella mad when you suggest adult drivers should be more responsible than children walking/biking
Anytime a politician switches party there should automatically be a special election.

We need to regulate the height of vehicles in the country. This truck outside my building is massive. I’m 5’10” and the hood is at my neck! You could fit a school bus worth of children in his blind spots.
Good. Actually doing the work instead of letting things slowly die by committee.
A spokesperson for Council Speaker Julie Menin says the body is "concerned by the speed and process through which" Mayor Zohran Mamdani's Charter Revision Commission has advanced five ballot questions for November, warning of "unintended consequences."
