that HWA newsletter op-ed was disgusting, juvenile, stupid, AND poorly written, but I do think we need to underline the distinction between "the organization allowed a bad essay to be published in an official communication" and "the HWA endorses this point of view"

Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Ask OpenAI if you are fishing correctly and it will tell you that you're the best fisherman in the world and you may have discovered a new way of fishing that will change the way people fish forever and also yes, dogs are fish
Honestly, there's an extremely high ratio of all-timers in that first SNL UK season, but this in particular is one of the best* *British Themed Pub, Underage, Dad Swap, 45 Seconds with Fouracres all contenders too.
Perhaps the unlikeliest of comedy sketches to crop up in 2026, but also one of the funniest:

I have many many thoughts on the new AI novel controversy ranging from, is this all just racial bias and an extension of the gatekeeping that publishing is so fond of, to just how frequent are these controversies going to be? But there are two certainties to me.

Your favourite film plays out exactly the same except one of the characters is being controlled by a little rat. Which film, and which character?

A few thoughts on Sarah Hinkley's Gothic vampire novel of 19th century Paris, The Red Sacrament, published by @titanbooks.bsky.social www.woolamaloo.org.uk/reviews-the-... . #books #livres #horror #horreur

The Red Sacrament is THE vampire novel of the new century. I have been saying this for literal years now.
Hannah Goodreads you will be reincarnated as a lotus flower

Wile E. Coyote, despaired, takes a bucket of paint and a brush and paints a beautiful two-bedroom house on a mountainside. He paints a beautiful coyote wife in the window, and two adorable coyote kids running around in the yard. He tries to enter this new coyote life, but it is inaccessible to him
Blimey, TOY STORY 5 is an overstuffed mess. Muddled messaging and poorly plotted. Lacks even the tiny spark that the pretty dull fourth installment had. We're on diminishing returns now, folks.
You can kill a French vampire with a baguette. It's a painstaking process but it works.
I have watched AVATAR FIRE & ASH and I have thoughts. Pretty dull movie. Lang is still having the time of his life, and is doing great stuff in a morally grey area Cameron often doesn't explore. Visual effects are stunning but do not help a dated and boring story and a lacklustre script.
some reader responses I really love to Arnault, the protagonist of The Red Sacrament, from Goodreads reviewers
