After blinding Batman, the Penguin attempts to hold Gotham City for ransom with a new military helicopter. "Blind as a Bat" is the final outing for Penguin as a main villain in BTAS and is one of the only episodes where he feels like a real threat. Nothing too deep here - a solid action thriller.

"Shadow of the Bat: Part II" is an action-heavy episode (The sequence in the flooding tunnel is a standout) that allows Batgirl to come into her own as a hero. Commissioner Gordon's wannabe usurper, Gil Mason, never appears again in the show, but he's a delightfully slimy character.

When her father is framed for corruption, Barbara Gordon takes on the guise of Batgirl to try and figure things out. "Shadow of the Bat: Part I" is a pretty fun crime story that goes surprisingly heavy on the detective work. Two-Face's return as a leading villain helps things out, too.

There are some moments and character dynamics in Spider-Man: Brand New Day that are, by far, the MCU's best when it comes to replicating the feeling of the comic universe.
Two-Face is truly a Swiss army knife Batman villain. Need a guy from Bruce Wayne's past? Two-Face. Need an episode filled with agonized pathos and themes of duality? Two-Face. Need a crime boss to up the stakes? Two-Face. Need a dude who's just kinda into his big coin-flipping gimmick? Two-Face.

One of DC's most iconic connections was born in "Harley and Ivy." It's an episode that fires on all cylinders - top notch voice acting, great direction, and a crackerjack script. No wonder audiences latched onto this pairing like they did. Pure delight.
Finished reading yesterday. This book clarifies a lot of the mythology around the much storied production of this show. A lot of new insight here dispelling some of my own assumptions and misconceptions about what happened behind the scenes.

"The Mechanic" isn't all bad - seeing the concept sketches for the Batmobile is kinda neat and you could play a drinking game where you take a shot every time The Penguin is drawn off-model. Aside from that, though, the script itself doesn't give you much to work with.

"Zatanna" introduces the titular magician to the world of BTAS, this time as someone from Bruce Wayne's past who seeks to clear her name after she's framed. The episode isn't amazing, but it does provide another good example of the series' ability to efficiently build a memorable character.
