Berks of Delights

Creative and cute. Not my words, Carol. The words of an Etsy marketing email. Design, Illustration, Gardens, Furniture, not AI. Ever. English in New England. Low T Man, High Tea Man. Let's get tonight's horror show on the road...

Ruddy hell. Someone in *checks notes* Derbyshire go and grab these. The 25s come around so rarely, and are the smaller relation to my 66s. Super tweeter, two tweeters for the mids. Big old 12” woofer, passive radiator. Look lovely AND those cool stands. Go on…do it. Then learn how to recap them.

Celestion Ditton 25 speakers on cool vintage stands with wheels.

This is fun. (It’s not, but you knew that already) Taking apart one of the Blowing Rock slipper dining chairs. Just to see how long the refinishing will take to judge if it’s worth trying to get then done in time for the current table I’m working on…or just hold them back for the OTHER table.

Dining chair on a bench. Mid century modern. Seat is removed. Tall, with an elegant curved t shaped back rest. The chair mostly taken apart. One stubborn side rail is refusing to budge.

Chap walked past the house as I was putting the bins out. He was on his phone, “yeah, it’s gonna be a great party. A beautiful Italian girl marrying a Jersey guy…” I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of velour tracksuits, animal prints and leather bomber jackets that event will witness.

Yeah, by about 2ft. I was stood by the post box as the van sailed past and then a minute later I get this notification. So, they had it on them in order to scan and mark it as undelivered. Simply because they couldn’t be fucked to stop?

USPS just missed you.

eBay letting me know that more USPS Fuckery is going on.

Jaysus H Corbett. The tax bill from the town rocked up. The 'we've re-evaluated everyone's homes' tax bill. 20% increase is it? Fucking hell. At least I can see how that money is being spent because of all the improvements in....*checks notes*....I've got nothing.

Mother is on the phone. Once again she’s complaining about something that is entirely a consequence of her own actions and which she has failed to learn from despite having done it 27 times before. I can’t even muster a sympathetic voice.

Today has mainly consisted of carrying everything out in blazing sun to work on the deck, and then running back in with everything in apocalyptic downpours, and then carrying everything back out in blazing sun, and then running...etc I swear we got 3 months worth of rain in one 20 minute period.

Just reading some Republican candidate promises should they be elected to the state senate, and as per usual the top one is always ‘reduce taxes’ followed by a list of other things that can only be achieved via taxation. And obviously, they all have that whiff of ‘vagueness’ about them.

Removing all the rust and lubricating the table hardware. You don’t get this kind of attention to detail that nobody will ever see with the ‘slap some stain and polyurethane on it and call it refinished’ crowd….

Hinges for the folding leaf extension mechanismDrill with a wire wheel buffing head on it.

Good news! I’ve found the snobbiest paragraph in a speaker review ever: ‘But the BC-1's strongest asset, its musical naturalness, is unfortunately going to be lost on most audiophiles who, unfamiliar with the sounds of live acoustical instruments, are incapable of recognizing it when they hear it’

Absolutely bossed the game, but pundits and commentators still suggesting that it all hinged on mistakes by Flint. I mean, it did…a bit *tiny gap between fingers gesture* but otherwise they offered barely anything other than their goal, and the run of play was all ours. But, sure…the own goal.

Vermonty kind of day. Involved covered bridge, anyway. Visited the Von Trapp Garden open day, then went to the pub. Had a non alcoholic Porter which was close to the real thing, and was miles better than the non alcoholic Guinness I tried a while back. Stouts and Porters are my big misses.

Single lane covered bridgePale yellow Hollyhock with a sea of blooming plants behind, plus woodland and blue skies.Fountain and pond with cottage style planting behind. Dense thick planting with lots in flower.Pink echinacea with sea of flowers behind.

The mail isn’t out for delivery today. *scratches an 8th line into the wall* But luckily the thing I ordered from FedEx, to avoid all the USPS delays, is out for deliv….oh, no, wait. That’s sat in CT. Cool, cool, cool. It’s not like I wanted my business to run smoothly and efficiently.

Accidentally put the wildlife camera on upside down last night after recharging it. So when checking it this morning was pretty shocked to see how many black and white bats had visited during the hours of darkness. Just skunks tonight, though.
