Marathon runner turned environmental campaigner trying to save Bristol’s biodiversity. 🌶️ opinions are my own #BeserkForDormice #SaveYewTreeFarm #WesternSlopes #Goodgym

Absolutely. I knew very little about them before my (very unfinished) PhD on conservation genetics of the lesser horseshoe. But so important and so incredible. Also crucial for tequila (well cactus pollination), if that helps persuade anyone still not persuaded by the stunning photos.

We need to talk about poor journalism and blatant misinformation. Tom Howard published this article in The Times today with the rage bait title ‘Scrap newt and bat rules to ease London housing crisis ministers told’ which is more than just bad journalism, it’s actually an embarrassing mistake🧵

Current house building targets were always DOOMED TO FAIL 🧐The established market house-building model of the last 2 DECADES (overseen by successive Tory & Labour governments) has been PROVEN TO FAIL, over and over again. So WHY do we keep trying the same model and not have a complete re-think? 🤷‍♂️

Are Dartmoor Ponies really going to die? I spent the past few days getting to the bottom of the pony cull issue. I’ve done a ridiculous amount of research and looked at all sides while reviewing current legislation changes. Here’s what I found⬇️ open.substack.com/pub/danicapr...

I got my FOI back from the department of energy and net zero surrounding the procurement of the Fingleton Review after the ICO had to get involved. The delay must’ve been down to a fire at the virtual black square factory... Definitely not hiding anything… 🙄

Exactly this. I became a campaigner to stop a designated site of nature conservation interest from destruction in my community in Knowle West Bristol. I was renting a tiny one bed flat with no green space but being called an elitist nimby by millionaire politicians with massive gardens.

This is exactly what we have been warning about. But oh no, anyone who objects to the changes is a selfish, privileged nimby, a zealot, a blocker, an elitist. Let's trash the lives of England's poorest communities, and smear anyone who complains. Thanks Keir. 🧵 www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Glyphosate usage is back in the news, especially pre harvest spraying of wheat. The @thesoilassociation.bsky.social have concerns over human health as breads & cereals may be tainted. Others have environmental concerns as we previously reported...

Devastating songbird decline: is an Essex council really responsible?

With the huge decline in songbirds, the dawn chorus is now led by seagulls and pigeons in Southend. Is glyphosate to blame?
