Here's a great bug Strawberry crown moth, Synanthedon bibionipennis. A beautiful wasp mimic visiting Showy Milkweed

UL - Cecropia moth caterpillar starting to spin cocoon (overwinters) UR - the female moth & remnants of brown cocoon. LL/LR - she is joined by a male - his feathery antennae detect her pheromones from about 1 mi away! After they mate, the female lays about 100 eggs. Adult moths live about 2 wks.

Sesiidae, the "Clearwing Moth" family, might be one of my favorite lep families I've only seen 5 species so far, but they've all been BEAUTIFUL👏 1 Euryphrissa sp, Colombia 2 Synanthedon scitula, Oklahoma 3 Synanthedon chrysidipennis, Montana 4 Vitacea scepsiformis, Oklahoma
