Seems to be mustelid day here, with a polecat and a stoat running around within a few metres of the house in the last 24 hours... possibly a reaction to the boom in the baby rabbit population which might be about to be reversed.

Don’t want to sound all end-of-days alarmist but a pigeon just landed on the roof rack as we drove round Penzance Sainsbury’s roundabout and rode all the way to the station, only flying off when we parked and that’s really not normal is it?
Trying a new technique to contain feral chillies (L-R: jalapeño ghost; Joe’s long cayenne; early green jalapeño) which seems to be dealing with the challenge of one dense bushy plant and one very tall one OK so far.

This is a good evening to live in west Cornwall.
First ripe apple of the season - Irish Peach which apparently ripens late July to early August. So it's looking like another early apple harvest year. (Tasted excellent, flesh starting to turn pink-red and very sweet).
One week in and happy to call it: robot lawnmowers are life changing (not just for the rabbits). TreLawny has done 4.6sq km so far and seems to be handle almost everything… would be a massive timesaver if watching it work wasn’t so compelling.

A nice distraction from local elections. Significant US investment for Pirates means that next season is now looking a lot more interesting - still not clear if anything will ever cause the RFU/Prem closed shop to expand a bit but this might be a model for more teams to be involved at top level.

Marginal improvement to Cornwall - London air connectivity after the PSO fiasco but only for ~10 weeks this summer: Easyjet route NQY-LGW operating Tuesday late afternoon and Saturday morning. Combined with Ryanair's 4x weekly to Stansted, only Thursdays are now without a London flight.
