I haven’t bought something recently purely with the intention of tinkering - there’s always been another reason. I just bought myself a car thing from the US. I know it’s defunct, no longer usable etc… unless you go and load open source firmware on it! Time to tinker

You are not an iOS or Android customer. Facebook and TikTok are. Apple and Google conspire with Facebook and others to trick you to track you. When you can, use a web browser rather than an app, and make sure it's *your* browser not the fake one Apple and Google provide to Facebook to deceive you.
