I do think that the RSVP reading method is impressive, and I'm mostly happy at 600wpm, and I can see it working for articles or non-fiction but cannot see how this works for fiction. There's no time for my imagination to catch up! Any one out there read a novel using RSVP? www.readkinetic.com/app

I still can't get past this fucking level… It's been open in my tabs since it was released - and frankly, a bunch of girls in mini skirts on a laptop belonging to a mad in his late 40s really isn't a great look.

Rhythm game with Japanese avatars that dance, and he used the cursor keys to match the rhythm. I failed with 80% accuracy and I need 85%.

"Oh wow, who would have thought it" - no one. www.404media.co/hack-reveals... Company scraped other people's work to build their model. I'm _really_ looking forward to when we can point at a Small Language Model and say: "consent and credit was given for this model".

Boy notifies me that there's "a strange smell" coming from his laptop. Yay for burst capacitor smell… It's a razor laptop, and though it's managed to boot and work around the issue… 😱

I have successfully pulled my 300+ books from Amazon onto my own machine and "modified" the bytes so that I can read *MY* books where ever I like. Took a long time. Took pinching the little one's Windows machine. Took running some questionable software. But worked in the end.

It ain't pretty, but currently doing surgery on Pokémon Emerald Green. This poor soul lost two of its ROM legs so I had to grind into the silicon to expose the internal bond pads then jump with enamelled 38 AWG (fucking hairline) wire. Fingers crossed, eh?!

A photo of a microscope focused down on a PCB where it looks like someone that's got human hair soldered into a mess of electronics and copper and wires and generally looking pretty gnarly

I've just been on linkedin trying to block suggested posts, and because it's all generated nodes and classes…I can't. Which leads me back 2 years to this post: remysharp.com/2024/04/17/c... Given that we do have selectors for `::target-text` and `::search-text` (though limited support)…doable now?

CSS text fragment selector (please)

A little while ago (read: 14 years ago) I wished for a parent selector, and we finally have `:has` 🎉. Now, how about the ever useful jQuery selector `:contain…

I've spent the last hour or so looking for an image. It's a comic book character, probably just corners of comics, white, future guy, probably a ray gun, big chin. Halp me find it!

There's a school playing field behind our house and there's music blasting and karaoke happening, and it turns out it's the teachers letting loose at the end of the year. Love it.

Fairly sure "no" is the answer (given the caniuse check I did, but I know mozillians might know better): can Firefox for android register as a share target for a file type? Pretty sure this stalled and then never landed, but 🤷
