Underappreciated aspect about Apple: not competing on everything. 30 years ago, Apple didn't build a browser, they added Internet Explorer to MacOS. 20 years ago, didn't build a search engine. Nowdays, Apple doesn't build AI; this lets Apple be the gatekeeper. Maps is the glaring exception.
