Family search continues! Years ago my nana said there was a family name of Spanish origin on a building cornerstone in St Augustine. I once walked around Old St. Aug looking at cornerstones hoping one would speak to me lol I think I may have finally and accidentally uncovered something.
I love researching my family history. Today, after 25 years of doing this, I discovered that my great-grandfather was a Buffalo Soldier. AND I found a pension record from my 4th great-grandparents with firsthand accounts from them and other relatives about life pre- and post-slavery. (linked)
