(friendly quote post) AIPAC does style itself as "bipartisan" and has since its ascent as a lobby on Capitol Hill in the 1970s, but since 2022 when they began directly spending on elections, they have disproportionately endorsed Republicans while spending almost exclusively on Democrats primaries.

It's essentially a ratcheting effect where they work as hard as possible to ensure the DP nominates the rightmost candidate on the issue and then they just stop spending altogether after that, because they are fine with either a right wing Democrat or a Republican. That's really bad for Dems!
