Just finished reading this, and holy fuck is it good @dannyramadan.com Inhaled it. What an incredible read after having similarly inhaled Loubna Mrie’s “Defiance” recently.

"The hardest part, I believe, in writing this book was finding a way to tell these more traumatic experiences while demanding respect and joy instead of pity and sympathy."

★ In this deeply felt debut, Danny Ramadan details his path from Syria to Lebanon to Canada while interrogating the voyeuristic demands of memoirs about forced migration. Readers will find this both brilliant and destabilizing. @softskull www.publishersweekly.com/9781593768294

I hate gay Halloween, what do you mean you’re going as Pepper’s rat tail in American Horror Story Asylum?
Sometimes it takes a bully to reign in a bully and Doug Ford is nothing if not a bully.
WestJet’s next upgrade will be: “passenger in a box!” Can you fit in a box like a cat?! You can save with our latest seating arrangement! We now offer travel boxes for your convenience. Once you enter the box, you’re comfortably stacked in the back of the plane. Air holes are extra.
A trend I’ve noticed! Gay-baiting influencers on TikTok and instagram are suddenly affirming their heterosexuality. They post videos (scaled between funny and cringy) coming out as straight. I guess now that the political climate is shifting, they will take the money and run back to safety.
It is so weird how obsessed Danielle Smith is with trans people. What’s going on, lady? What is haunting you?
"I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational." - Charlie Kirk, speaking in an Turning Point USA event on April 5, 2023. #CharlieKirk
I wonder how Charlie Kirk feels about gun control reforms in the US now.
I know no one cares because this is not some clever one liner or a comment on current affairs: but my agent read my latest manuscript and loved it. #books #author #writer
