I've set up a fundraiser to help stock my kid's school with new library books. These aren't text books but books the children can read for pleasure. Maybe you aren't in a position to donate right now but, if not, could you please help by sharing? Thank you! #speirgorm #BookSky gofund.me/55e46e8ca

The Marx Bros' film debut THE COCOANUTS was released #OTD in 1929. It's public domain and widely available. I'm so happy to see films age out of copyright protection, but still stream in pristine transfers. It's such a paradigm shift from the days when P.D. often meant poor quality dupes. #FilmSky

No-one in British theatre had a finer ear for dialogue than Peter Gill (1939-2026). The most meticulous of directors, unfashionably loyal to talent not stardom, he was also a superbly compassionate writer whose charged, emotional plays charted gay sexuality and working-class lives like no other. RIP

Incredibly prolific film composer David Buttolph was BOTD in 1902 (d. 1983). Over 300(!) film and TV scores, including HOUSE OF WAX (1953), THE BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS (1953) and the "Maverick" TV series. A long and noteworthy career for a guy you probably never heard of. #filmsky #moviesky

Last call: 1. Super-Easy! SO easy, you'll be insulted! 2. Easy. A popular tune in elevators since 1959 3. Medium. An easy-listening classic, but hard to name! 4. Difficult. Beautifully quirky score which I adore. 5. Super-Expert: This one is an import, and a must-watch! #filmsky #moviesky #games
