Removing social media apps from my phone for at least a week. Let's see how this goes.

Yep. We're cooked. We've been cooked for a while. The individual is guilt-tripped over running water when brushing their teeth, while a large company can indiscriminately taint an entire community's water supply. (Yes, I turn the water off when brushing my teeth.)
This was a super fun design project around a great little USB 80x25 fan. Check it out on @prusa3d.com Printables! Link in reply
Today I published a new @freecad.org tutorial: how to create vases with the Additive Loft tool (Part Design Workbench) #freecad #tutorial #3dprinting youtu.be/bcjzdR7deJY

I accidentally discovered that the panorama feature on my phone works well with recording the wake of a ship one is traveling on.
If you don't know who @beetlemoses.bsky.social is, check out his comic: it's great. Regardless, stop by and wish him the best on his marriage!

Starting the weekend off with a nice roast. How about you?
Turns out it's surprisingly easy to train your own facial recognition model! Want to try your hand at it? I've put all the files, code, and a detailed walk through on how to make your own face locked box on the Arduino Project Hub. projecthub.arduino.cc/katzcreates/...

This is cool. "Joel Creates" has created a novel air filter that appears efficient, fun, and very serviceable. It's worth watching this video! youtu.be/GpA7-EJpKWU?...

Weekend #3dprinting project. A wall anchor for a towel rack got pulled through the wall over time. A photo, some @freecadnews.bsky.social, and 95A TPU result in a custom fit. Tapered holes mean the screws push outward to make the snug fit even tighter.
I know I sound like a broken record, but it never gets old that I can design and print a replacement part for something in a day. Lost the crevice tool for our cordless vacuum - parts are impossible to find. No problem. A few hours later I had one in my hand. #3dprinting
I donated to this earlier today. Would you please consider donating as well?
Hey furriends! I found out recently that a group of veterinary students are raising funds to save all of the 70+ feral bunnies from my friend Sephi's colony. I donated in memory of my friend 💜 If you're able, here's the link to donate: saintsgivingday.carroll.edu/campaigns/an...
🐰 If you ❤️ bunnies, repost this! 🐰 Bunnies are a 10+ year commitment. 🐰 Bunnies ARE NOT good starter pets. 🐰 Bunnies ARE NOT for children. 🐰 Bunnies require pricey $$ exotic vet care. 🐰 Bunnies ARE NOT gifts for Easter (or any other time)!! #MakeMineChocolate #NotJust4Easter #AdoptDontShop
I love #3DPrinting. Our doggie daycare needed our dogs to have nametags with phone numbers (blacked out here) in case there are other dogs that looks similar. I designed these in @freecadnews.bsky.social and printed them in Recreus Filaflex 82A on my @elegoo.bsky.social Centauri Carbon.
Happy #MarioDay (Mar10)! While my #StupidLatteArt can't quite capture Mario's likeness (probably good from a liability standpoint), I at least tried to get his bushy 'stache.
From my AI rants in the past, some might think I'm against AI. I'm not. I'm against being naive about AI and its use. I'm against rushing into plastering AI into everything, without considering the consequences. But this is precisely where I see AI being useful: helping people
Dom has touched on three of my interests with FDM 3D printing - flexible filaments (which freaking rock), practical prints, and home repair. Seriously, I want to live to see a day where 3D printers are even more of an appliance, and nearly everyone can simply look up a part that some dedicated
I'm not the best at 3D modelling, but if its replciating functional parts from something thats just technical drawings. a few sketches, a lof or two and some extrusions, and my mums sewing machine has a new TPU foot

Hot take: the soundtrack for "Cowboy Bebop" isn't just one of the greatest anime soundtracks of all time... It's one of the best soundtracks of all time, period.
Somehow, this song really rings true now. I just pray we don't leave so much in the hands of the next generation. They deserve so much better. music.amazon.com/albums/B002F...
