Looking at a broken ZX Spectrum Issue 1 for a friend, recapped it at his request (kit he sent was all axial caps so had to get creative) but it hasn't helped. I'm fairly confident that not all the RAM is actually bad. Bad ULA perhaps?
Unearthed from the depths of my garage. Unlike my original Zzap! Issues, I kept these reasonably nice. I must have given the PowerPack tapes to RCM though, they probably had 20-odd copies already. 😄
Radio 2 news this morning airing Reform UK's "two-tier policing" claims as their second-from-top item. No sign of this 'story' on their main web page though, so is it fair to assume it's a demographic thing? How are they allowed to use my own money to constantly tell me what Nigel Farage thinks? 😡
That pose, it's like he's channelling Kilroy. It might be wishful thinking, but honestly, all that's coming across is diminishing political capital.
New campaign leaflet from Reform UK in Clacton. Weirdly, Farage's 'promises to Clacton' don't appear to contain any, umm, actual promises...
On a recent hunt for CPUs (I need them!), I acquired this ceramic 6510. It's gone in my 'museum piece' C64, works great.
I've been saying this for years, but any FPGA core will only be as accurate as the developer makes it. Porting MAME code goes against the whole MiSTer ethos, regardless of whether AI is used or not. But we are also in danger of letting perfect be the enemy of the good by opposing 'lazy' devs.
"You Might As Well Play On A Raspberry Pi" - The World Of MiSTer FPGA Remains Divided Over "AI Slop" Cores. (Repost)
Is this for real or just someone pretending to be a developer? Claims to have completed and released four projects, not a single download anywhere. Their GitHub link isn't a link, no account appears to exist. Everything about this looks fake.

Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die...
I bought my C64 on in 1986, on the strength of games like Dinky Doo and Falcon Patrol. Barely a couple of years later, with the addition of a disk drive I was playing near 16-bit quality games like Rocket Ranger on it. One of the many reasons I love this machine so much.
The boat jump in Last Ninja 2 was more stressful than the stepping stones in The Last Ninja. Change my mind.
New FREEZE64 just landed, thanks Vinny! For the record, I was and always will be a big fan of Labyrinth. May all your elephants be adumbrated. 👍
A meerkat's head is about the size of a lemon, so what the hell is going on here? Are these things meant to be human sized? I mean, I can cope with them speaking English, wearing smoking jackets and going to the cinema, but now I don't know what to think.
FluxCaster build thread! It's a self contained Bluetooth cassette adapter specifically for loading games on to older systems. It's got a Schmitt trigger onboard to tidy up incoming data, will pause automatically for the C64 and has some other bells and whistles. 🤓
Looking up the 8bitdo FlipPad on Amazon and what the fuck...?
Indie Retro News: Lemmings Reloaded - This enhanced version of a classic looks awesome for the C64 and it's coming next month! www.indieretronews.com/2026/01/lemm... #retrogaming #c64 #games #gaming @c64cade.com
Hey Meta, here's an idea: add a "Mouthbreather" reaction to Facebook. This automatically replaces the "HaHa" reaction for any user who reacts "HaHa" to a significant number of serious posts about medical science, climate change or geopolitical crises. 👍
Commodore User were certainly impressed by Championship Wrestling. Despite being a sports game from Epyx, I thought this one was a bit of a dud. A ton of moves that do next to nothing and 'finishers' that the other guy kicks out from, so no scope for actual wrestling. Slap, slap, slap, pin. Next! 😐
I've been fairly vocal about my own experience with these scumbags in the past. A hideously unethical company.
Virgin Media fined after hanging up on customers trying to cancel contracts
Millions of phone calls from customers were "likely mishandled" over nearly a three-year period, the regulator says.

Assuming he’s not going to spend the entire by-election campaign in hiding (which is always a possibility), every journalist who comes into contact with him between now and polling day should ask him to confirm that he believes he has been more physically attacked than Jo Cox and David Amess.
Farage reckons that to prosper, countries should be governed by people with private business interests because they 'know how to make money". Yeah. FOR 👏 THEM👏SELVES. #NoTrump
It never ceases to amaze me how eBay keeps getting worse, considering how much money they make and how little the site has ever needed to change. Look how it sorts the date of manufacture, for f@#!'s sake.
Just reading @doctorow.pluralistic.net's latest, which - as usual - is the most pithy, witty, accurate, fair, essential and impeccably-argued piece of tech industry criticism you're likely to read this year. So do.
My C64 Ultimate just got er, ultimat-er. Function keys replaced with grey ones from CBMSTUFF, looks identical to my original breadbin now.
My Blingboard has arrived, and it's a lovely thing indeed.
