My 3rd grade teacher told me I had a “great way of ruining things for people.” Now I do comedy. https://linktr.ee/danwilbur

Dude next to me on the Amtrak train has a real katana with him. I’ve never felt safer traveling. A conductor made a call about a suspicious package earlier. Didn’t bother me at all. I have a samurai’s protection.

So sick of these Google AI answers! I typed “why do the Ninja Turtles sound like California surfers when they grew up in the sewers of New York City?” and Google told me I should “consider grad school”???

A professor in college gave me a “B+” on a paper on the Odyssey and the only note was “this is an extremely well-argued idea but I simply disagree with you” and now that I’ve seen Nolan’s Odyssey…I get it. Technically brilliant. Cool take. But that’s not how I see Odysseus at all.

“Don’t do war crimes” is actually the message of the Iliad. The Odyssey’s message is “go do war crimes, then a bunch of other stuff for fun, but remember to eventually go home and sleep with your wife in a bed made out of a tree.”

On my deathbed: “please… go into my office… find the shelf of Criterion DVDs… and unwrap them all. I can’t have my children knowing I never watched Rififi…”
