But who pays for that? In the US, it would be the taxpayers. And in certain metro areas, public toilets converted to pay toilets because of abuse/people taking advantage. It's a great idea! But it only works if society operates on a certain set of standards/rules #AYACSM

All the gear, multiple sunscreen bottles - it adds up for people and families who are already stretched thin with rising costs. In Australia - there are some public sunscreen dispensers! Public infrastructure could make a huge difference for people #AYACSM

I have no idea. I don't leave the house as a grad student, so I don't need sunscreen. 😂 #AYACSM

That's a great point! My gen of AYAs were all about the tanning beds. We didn't have sun exposure, but we had radiation exposure. #AYACSM

I should also add a barrier is cost! I'm not sure about the US but high quality sunscreen is not cheap here in Canada and neither are UPF clothes (many brands needing to be imported from the States). #AYACSM

It very well could be. And I'm all for trying anything. I just know that I wouldn't have paid any attention to it in my 20s, but that's just me. #AYACSM

Good point. I'm also thinking about the inundation of messaging without one clear messaging stream - going back and forth between different information channels throughout the day. #AYACSM

I think a large part of it is the feeling of being invincible. There's a reason why "I'm too young for this" was so popular a few decades ago. #AYACSM

@ekdrake.bsky.social IDK, as a survivor, prevention is a challenging topic. I avoid sun exposure since my dx. I also avoid tanning beds bc of my primary cancer #AYACSM

A1: I think a lot about how our understandings of the different types of skin cancer are evolving along with the different ways that we can protect ourselves. I worry that this information is not making its way to the general AYA population #AYACSM
