Tasmania, Always Tasmanian Local Government, Japanese Politics, Brisbane Lions, law stuff that I don’t understand, occasional book post, exc He/Him

I met someone recently for the first time who was suffering from farmer brain (very lefty until farmers were mentioned and then would go on a rant about how highly taxed they were

Telling a bunch of 18 year olds they can run LG in tassie with just 2 signatures, which some of them will inevitably use the info from to run for office, in order to finally prod the state govt into raising the threshold to run

The "ADHD is only an issue because capitalism" is such an interesting take to me very individualistic take on everything masquerading as something more collective-vy because it's coded as lefty?

Doing civics education is really fun because you can explain basic topics to them that any law student, even in their first year, could probably explain and they think you're cool as hell

Not a defence of Albanese's comments but i really do not think this is true? I have not seen it mentioned anywhere in the Japanese press, i do not think the Keidanren, MOFA or the Kantei care.

Since becoming a Clarence Council Candidate Jeff Briscoe has posted twice on Facebook about Hobart City Council matters and 0 times about Clarence City Council matters

The SRL debate is so cool because it's blatantly obvious how editorial staff Don't Get It because they're living in say (not to subtweet one particular journalist) St Kilda so they cant ever understand why a Box Hill resident would want to go to Broadmeadows and so hate it

I oppose changing Franklin to Tongerlongeter only because it would mean the fun fact that I think @benraue.com pointed out a few years ago that Tasmania's electorates, despite several renaming, had never changed alphabetical order, would become false! ... #politas

at the risk of saying a bad take i really struggle to see what Devon police did wrong? there was zero evidence (presumably) at the sight that it was politically motivated, and later more evidence emerged so they changed? If it was a coverup it was a pretty stupid one too, are you really saying...

i do like how the space background that Count Binface is using is identical to the one that then Digitization Minister (and shadow/almost candidate for PM) Kono Taro was using during zoom calls in 2021

I hadn't read the Slaughter decision till now. Actually insane that SCOTUS can entirely reconstitute so many boards like that and go 'yeah but it's severable even though it's basically a rewrite'
