Living w/ pain-- including unresolved trauma-- for years is its own complex trauma. When we're not taught the nuts & bolts of realistic, self-compassionate self-talk, mental focus, & physiology habits, all we're left w/ as a "strategy" is avoidance-- which makes it all worse.
