My high school cared about (ie. invested actual money in) sports way more than it did academics, and the end result was a crappy school that was also not good very at sports!

Not sure what the endgame is, but it sure feels like a trap.

It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better

Alex Kirshner@alexkirshner.com · 3d agoWhat bugs me about Dodger Discourse is that it shifts the focus off of genuine malfeasance by other teams. The Tigers just quasi-quit on a playoff race that they're very much still in! Who did that to their fans? It wasn't Boras, Manfred, or the LAD
Based on MLB Pipeline rankings, the Dodgers gave up only their 5th, 7th, and 17th best prospects for Skubal. Plus, they'll pay him roughly $11 million. Other teams were gutless, that's all it is.
What's wild about Spider-Man doing numbers is that it appeared (from my vantage point) to have zero buzz for a big-time comic book movie. I never saw a single trailer in the theaters or TV ad. Didn't even know the release date until a couple weeks ago, while the Odyssey was unavoidable for a year
