I draw things and am obsessed with movies starring long-dead actresses.

things are kinda dour today, so let’s get a singalong going! repeat after me: KOYAANISQATSI KOYAANISQATSI KOYAANISQATSI KOYAANISQATSI KOYAANISQATSI KOYAANISQATSI KOYAANISQATSI KOYAANISQATSI KOYAANISQATSI KOYAANISQATSI KOYAANISQATSI KOYAANISQATSI KOYAANISQATSI KOYAANISQATSI KOYAANISQA

🥲 sometimes you don't know if people will see or experience a thing the same way you do. like you hope they do, you think they will, but you can never be quite sure, even after years and years of working on it. so, i'm not sure i'm going to accomplish much today other than a little soft crying

House House's Big Walk is equally smart as their Untitled Goose Game in the way it wields its silliness, similarly playful and exuberant, and stuffed with innumerable delightful little touches. Otherwise, it's not much like Untitled Goose Game at all. Our review: https://bit.ly/3RFnP49

If you're a Warren Zevon fan you'll know that his favourite crime writer Ross McDonald visited him when he was in the dregs of addiction to give him a pep talk but this account of their meeting is a rivetting & haunting read that adds mystery to the anecdote: kevin6ca.substack.com/p/lew-archer...

LEW ARCHER AND THE EXCITABLE BOY

Earlier this year I read two excellent crime novels written by Newton Thornburg – To Die in California (1973) and Cutter and Bone (1976) – both of them set in Santa Barbara, California.

I knew Judith Anderson, famous for her Mrs. Danvers in Rebecca, was in fact more known for and lauded during her lifetime for her Medea but I never knew she looked this c*nty. You just know she drove those mid century lesbians *wild*. (I’m pretty sure she was 5 months pregnant with Fiona Shaw here)
