Ron is right about the staggering hypocrisy but this isn’t a new phenomenon. This was ushered in 40 plus years ago with the Robertsons,Falwells and Grahams of the world recognizing the had a large, ignorant,easily manipulated group, the Evangelicals, they could use for political and personal gain.

It’s about “devout Christian” House Republican leadership who is standing with this guy because they crave power above all else. It’s the culture of MAGA and it comes straight from Trump. Vote them out.
Embrace the central themes.. healthcare for all, affordable food & housing… & incorporate those into mainstream dem platforms - don’t stop until the concepts become embedded in the minds of the tiny-brained & the “don’t rock the boat” hand-wringers.

If there has been a shift it reflects the Rightwing co-opting of media and their post Citizens big money floating the system. But as you suggest, Dem Traditionalists would naturally embrace their New Deal roots.
We need to reestablish the concept that D politicians need to reflect what D voters think and not what D leadership thinks. WE are the party! Not them. We need to define it.

It’s possible, and appropriate, to respect traditional Democratic values while accepting new progressive goals. Why must it be a battle?
This is not about who you support in this race, this is about a foreign government spending a vast amount of money to make sure a Congressperson does their bidding and not necessarily what’s in our country’s best interests.
