Abberton Res always blows my mind-just so many birds to see. Over 9 hours here today and totted 80 species but barely scratched the surface. Pec Sand, R-n Duck, 5 Garganey, 31 Spoonbill, 30 Gt White Egret, 55 Little Egret, Osprey, Whinchat, Whimbrel, 4 Hobby and so many waterbirds! #BirdingEssex

Lots going on currently, so it was great that the @suffolkbirdgroup.bsky.social walk in King’s Forest proved so successful and enjoyable. Highlights purring Turtle Dove, Spotted Flycatcher, 7 singing Tree Pipits, pair of Woodlarks, 3 Dingy Skippers, 4 Green Hairstreaks.
9 weeks out of action cause I did the doddery git thing and bust me ankle, after a visit to the physio it's good news I don't need me walking boot now and driving follows shortly and a good bit of freedom as long as I take it easy for a while, good thing is I didn't miss any mega's in Suffolk

It takes a huge effort to keep up with the demand for our nest boxes. Volunteer JT is holding the 1000th Swift box he’s made the last 2 yrs. Obviously an act of sheer vandalism has taken place at Levington Creek in Suffolk where the new fencing wire has been cut in 4 places this fencing was to protect the habitats there
