I've been saying queen sacrifice today, butchering @edufuturist.bsky.social 's conception of cutting high value academic departments. I was suggesting that giving up the creation of content for our courses to AI is the same kind of sacrifice. We lose our voice and our sense of story.

I recognize that it isn't possible... but I'd love a filter that stopped me from receiving any AI generated image or video. Just blocked the post.

I'm starting to think about how I can talk about Open Learning/Education at my new job. I definitely think that one half of that is "widening participation". Things like PLAR, ZTCs lowered barriers for entry. the other half, open practices?Some of those practices work against widening participation

Am trying to finish up my Comps in my PhD program (yes, I'm still trying to get that done) and have noticed that I currently don't have a citation that starts with A. Anyway, it's bothering me. Am talking about uncertainty. Anyone have a recommendation? At all?

I wonder how many young people, right now, have been asked to 'go explore' GenAI (in academic, in corporations etc...) who don't actually understand the field/business context that they are being asked to do the research in.
