Sous vide gochujang chicken for dinner last night. Sorta improvised recipe but holy crap, that was good. 74c for 3ish hours. Probs do 75.5 next time. Also, move the oven rack down 1 and go a bit longer. Bit more in alt. Looks funky but soooo tasty!

Pic of a 1/4 chicken I had at dinner last night. Sous vide then broiled quickly. Eyed ~3tbsps of gochujang, 3-4 smashed garlic cloves, 3 glugs low-sodium soy, small shake of red pepper flakes & a few small grinds of szechuan peppercorns. Wisked up, slathered very thoroughly, into the SV bag. Once done, patted dry, rubbed some leftover sauce on the top and into the broiler..

Hey, Netflix, remember how you used to send me 1 notification like once/month, then decided to maybe send multiple per day? Now, you send none. CC: every other business that knows how to spam me. If somebody is telling you to start spamming you customers, FIRE THEM! (not the customers)

Crappy weather at the wildlife sanctuary = fewer humans & wildlife closer to the path than usual. This beauty surprised me! Right there, maybe 15ft off the path. It then flew maybe 40ft away and stopped, so I took this picture..

The nearby wildlife sanctuary used to be a US Army base annex and has a bunch of these big, concrete bunkers slowly being retaken by nature.. Actually saw one with an open door today - a first!! NGL, was too chicken to look around inside. Standing right in front of the door was a good 10F cooler..

Creepy open door of a big, old ammo bunker. Never seen one without a big lock on it before. Very noticeably colder standing right in front of the door and 10 feet back than just a few feet over. 10x creepy.
