We need to get back to believing that people are essentially good and can do amazing things. I don't care if that makes me sound like a deluded hippie or whatever, it's what needs to happen. The endless security theater and paranoia of the 21st century is also hurting all of us. It fucking sucks

I was at a wedding all day and am just getting around to telling ppl here that I was in a band that opened for Laid Back Country Picker last night. Here they are at soundcheck. I didn't know anything about them. Wild stuff, like country fried AC/DC...I only caught the first song. Was cool though

Laid Back Country Picker: the dude and his wife, on a porch stage in mid September

Astrophotographer Adam (AJ) Smadi caught this image a few hours ago from Washington state. A thin crescent Moon, sunlight illuminating the rugged lunar surface. And 2,400 times farther away—and on the other side of the Sun—mighty Jupiter, and its moons Io (left) and Ganymede (right).

A crescent Moon seen during the day, arcing from upper left to lower right of the frame. At lower centre is the full disk of Jupiter; the small dots to its upper left and lower right and Io and Ganymede, respectively.

So today for Bandcamp Friday, I would actually like to promote some stuff of mine that isn't on Bandcamp. If you subscribe to my site with a paid subscription ($3/mo or more), you can download all the releases I have up, (with the exception of Guitar Tapes vol I, on Sun Cru records). 🧵

I'm pleased to announce my new album, "Headwaters" will be out digitally and on CD on September 4. Pre-orders on Bandcamp & Ampwall begin this Friday, Sept. 7. For starters, check out this amazing artwork:

the album cover is a woodcut print in black ink of a flowered mandala. the text reads: "J.M. Hart" and "Headwaters".

Please blow up the public comment (included below): BREAKING NEWS (7/15) — The administration wants to destroy Chaco Canyon without consulting Tribal Nations. It’s an irreplaceable historic & cultural site with 4,700 archeological sites that could be lost to the bulldozers of oil & gas development

"We are the music we play. Our commitment is to peace, to understanding of life. We keep trying to purify our music, to purify ourselves, so that we can move ourselves, and those who hear us, to higher levels of peace and understanding." Happy Birthday Albert Ayler born July 13, 1936
