Steve Ditko’s Odd Man is such a weirdly unclaimed piece of DCU real estate, but I can see why—that costume’s a real pain to draw. I did a short story about him as a backup for my ALL STAR COMPOSITE SUPERMAN bootleg comic anyway (get at me or @strangeadventures.bsky.social if you need a copy).

I went on a Micronauts kick a few years back and started wondering what a mid-eighties live-action movie adaptation might have looked like. This is my ideal version right here, although looking back on it I now realize I left out a crucial detail: creature effects by Rob Bottin.

Just assembled my new comic displays from Sinister Rabbit Studio, and I couldn’t be happier with them. Lightweight, easy to assemble, and very reasonably priced. I’ll be debuting them next month at @dartmouthcomix.bsky.social, hopefully with a new comic for the show as well.

The Sam Neill movie I’d like to revisit most this evening—the movie I first saw him in—is only streaming in Canada in French. Sacre bleu!
The polar opposite reactions here to the deaths of Sam Neill and Lindsey Graham are such a reminder that we all have a choice whether to live our lives in a way that brings joy or misery to those around us. I think if you’re remembered fondly as Sam Neill is today, you’ve pretty much won at life.
We finished the bizarre and fascinating docuseries BRING ME THE BEAUTIES last night, a wild story about a weirdo socialite/alien from Arcturus and his cult of supermodel followers in 1980s NYC. It also ties in to my beloved EXORCIST III!
I met Chris Claremont at a store appearance in 1991 and he showed off several unlettered photostat pages from this story, which ultimately went published. As you can imagine, it looked pretty cool.
A friend loaned me this last night. Had no idea George Kennedy had written not only this but at least one more fictional novel about himself as a sleuth solving murders! His own CONFESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MIND:
40 years ago this summer, the New Universe was unleashed to, let’s say, mixed reception. It’s definitely a bit of a trash fire, but I’ll always have a soft spot for it (one that’s admittedly largely based around the hype leading up to it, kinda like the SW prequels).
