again, the knowledge that coverage like this now happens because of some people who call themselves feminists drives me insane - must everyone who happened to have been born a girl be seen through the lens of "but what about breastfeeding"? is that really what we're doing, again?

I can’t put into words the fury this reporting fills me with. How more indignity must trans people be spoken be subjected to by our national broadcaster?

For me, the biggest takeaway from Sophie Cunningham’s hard launch into the right-wing culture wars is how *lucrative* bigotry is now. There’s an entire conservative media ecosystem that will turn anyone willing to make transphobia their personal brand into a well-compensated star.

I am really worried that people's hatred of AI is going to lead to underestimating what it can and can't do. With the HuggingFace thing I've seen people say "we're ascribing agency and personhood to dumb robots chatting back and forth which is what they were asked to do in the first place"...

Alternate take … Seattle’s mainstream media is conservative and duped this vulnerable couple into thinking their recall petition was legitimate and then hyped the story even though it was clearly frivolous. This story should have gotten the same level of press coverage as a goodspaceguy candidacy.
