Woke Trump despiser. Bernie/AOC/Elizabeth Warren Democrat. History buff. Enthusiastic student of pop culture from the Beatles to Chappell Roan, Tom Wolfe to Tom Robbins, and Excalibur to Rocky Horror. Blue Sky is full of fascinating folks, but I don’t chat
Alice Through the Looking Glass – a live-action musical with plenty of star power – aired on NBC this evening in 1966. The young Judy Rolin is featured as Alice – but the production leans heavily on heavyweights like: Jimmy Durante; Nanette Fabray; Ricardo Montalban; Agnes Moorehead; & Jack Palance.
The Sunshine Boys – directed by Herbert Ross – premiered today in 1975. A dyspeptic comedy team reunites for a big payday. Based on a Tony-nominated play by Neil Simon (who also penned this screenplay), the film stars Walther Matthau, George Burns, & Richard Benjamin.

Shake It Up – the 4th studio album from the Cars – was released today in 1981 on Elektra. The kinetic title track rocketed to #4 (pop) in the U.S. Overall, the lp is a bit less brooding than previous efforts – but Ric Ocasek’s “I’m Not the One” (#32 pop U.S.) is a memorable melancholic tune.
They set things up for people like Keisha Lance Bottoms and James Talarico. Brilliant and amazing all of them!!
Abolish & Dismantle ICE should be on Dems top agenda! Pass federal laws that protects these thugs! Unmask them all. And fuck you Hakeem Jeffries for not doing enough to protect us. It's time for you to step aside.
🔥 @NYCMayr Zohran Mamdani: “It’s not enough for us as Democrats to win power. We have to use that power to deliver change Americans can feel in their wallets... the work is only just starting and this has to be delivered for working people across the country.”
“Before we pick anybody as the Senate Democratic leader, we need to have a conversation among ourselves — an open, honest conversation about the direction of the country.” Sen. @vanhollen.senate.gov explains why he became the first Democratic senator to speak out against a Schumer coronation.
More of this please. SCOTUS can't undo a state law, although they'll probably try.
Well Done Montana!
Aerosmith’s single “Walk This Way” was re-released today in 1976. Penned by Steven Tyler & Joe Perry – & produced by Jack Douglas (1945-2026), following its re-release the single reached #10 (pop) in the U.S. It’s a signature moment for drummer Joey Kramer – he gives the record a dose of heavy funk.
