Soybean Circadian Clock Gates Rhythmic Defense against SCN In their Research Article (DOI: 10.1002/advs.202518591 ), Wei Wang, Huan Peng, Mian Zhou, and co-workers uncover the molecular battle between soybean and its parasitic pest, soybean cyst nematodes (SCN). The soybean circadian clock gates rhythmic defense against SCN, with core component GmCCA1 acting as a dual regulator of defense and translation, while a conserved nematode effector, Hg4E02, antagonizes GmCCA1's function. This study nominates GmCCA1 as a promising target for engineering SCN-resistant soybeans.
