I had already been planning on writing about POSSESSION for its 45th anniversary but the loss of Sam Neill changed my approach greatly. What I ❤️ about this film is that no 2 viewings are the same so I wrote about that here & so much more: from-the-desk-of-the-horror-chick.ghost.io/45-years-lat...

After smelling it baking in the oven with canned dog food and other ingredients, I can safely say that the smell of ground beef being cooked has been ruined for me. I just smelled spaghetti being cooked and it made me a little bit sick just from the smell.

Constantly cleaning up after and essentially taking care of 4 dogs that you don't own is exhausting. I complained about cleaning up after them and was told "You don't have to do that" which is funny because when I don't do that the Invisible Man doesn't seem to do it either.

Hey everyone - for my latest Summer of (Movie) Love series, I’m celebrating Cronenberg’s THE FLY. This is the film I’ve probably covered the most in my career but I really wanted to dive into it again. from-the-desk-of-the-horror-chick.ghost.io/summer-of-mo... Open to free/paid subscribers! 🪰💚

It really is wild how much attitude dictates so much in life. Living with someone who is sick and chooses to be negative, constantly worry about everything and overthink things to the point of misery has really shown me the importance of a positive attitude.

After living in a house where someone insists on putting canned dog food along with a bunch of other stuff in the oven at 300 degrees for ~2 hours, I may end up never wanting to smell food cooking ever again. The smell of canned dog food baking at 300 degrees is absolutely vile.

If it wasn't so infuriating, it would almost be impressive how much Walmart seems to go out of their way to make their stores as miserable as possible. Every decision is clearly made by someone who does not shop at or work at the store and never has to physically be there.

I've always loved dogs my whole life, but I've had such negative experiences with them in the past few years that I think I'm fine never owning one again myself. Cats are so much easier.

One of my biggest pet peeves at this point is when people make bullshit excuses for why they couldn't possibly have done the thing that would have taken less than 5 minutes to accomplish.

For my next Summer of (Movie) Love entry, I’m celebrating THE HITCHER. John Ryder was more terrifying to me than Freddy Krueger as a kid & the film still feels like a cinematic powder keg: from-the-desk-of-the-horror-chick.ghost.io/summer-of-mo...
