They are not the problem - immigrants contribute immensely to the wealth and well being of our country. The problem is not that we can't afford to feed and provide housing, health care, and education for our poor. The problem is that we choose not to, and instead give tax breaks to the wealthy

Susan Collins announcing she'll vote against a controversial nominee is basically the moment it becomes clear that nominee will be confirmed. It means Thune has enough votes to confirm, and thus, Collins gets a pass to look independent.

If the R's lose any more voting Senators for whatever reason, I imagine we will find out quickly that Collins will come out to say "having spoken with him, I am convinced that he has learned his lesson, and I will now be voting in favor of confirmation."

One Senator, whose job description is to rein in the President, just said there is nothing he or the Senate can do to rein in the President right after casting a vote that had it been cast with thought and integrity would have reined in the President but failed to do so.

I honestly don't think this has anything to do with men not being able to handle women being more successful than men, but rather an inability to appreciate the difference between two enormous numbers - for practical purposes countable vs. uncountable infinity. Amassing more wealth is pointless.

Trump gets to keep his illegal settlement declaring that the IRS cannot audit his past taxes. The settlement is blatantly illegal, invalid. The question is, who has standing to challenge it? It's an agreement between the DOJ, the IRS, and Trump, self-dealing. Seems like every citizen has standing.

I am praying that they are devious enough to say they will vote to send the nomination, and then tomorrow they vote no, ending the nomination once and for all, and forcing him to no longer be acting AG. Doubt it, but it would be a marvelous coup and bit of revenge against Trump.
