Trans, queer, married, Hove UK. Much older than I deserve to be. Green and unashamedly woke. Lover of Brighton, books, coffee and gin…but not necessarily in that order. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈🇵🇸🇺🇦🇨🇦💋

🖕The ultimate humiliation for @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social. The entire rationale for her policy of trans exclusion & segragation was based on her claim to need to "protect (cis) women". 🤦‍♀️ It turns out that cis women don't want or need to be protected from trans women & would rather stand with us. 🤜🤛

The transphobes leading the Labour Party decided to exclude trans women from the Labour Women’s conference. In doing so they excluded a huge number of cis women also; the venue was only 20% full. Labour needs to learn that transphobia harms everyone, including cis women, & not just trans people.

Lots of empty seats at Labour Women’s conference.

Gaby Hinsliff, campaigning for a cut to the UK state pension, omits the important contextualisation of state pensions in neighbouring countries, a significant omission. The only country I could find with a lower state pension is Portugal. This information seriously undermines her argument.

Britain needs cash and everyone knows we should break the pensions triple lock. Where is the courage?

The issue cannot be avoided any longer. Andy Burnham and his chancellor must face the fear of a pensioner backlash, and find a

Sunday Politics is “talking about” the triple lock on pensions again. “Talking about” = “trying to cut” Reminder of just how low the UK state pension is…

There have been so many impeachable offenses, but lying about how you were a hero on a day that 2,753 people died in NYC in the 9/11 disaster—when you were on the other side of town, safely calling local media to brag about how you now had the tallest downtown building—is such a despicable one

"Cuddly-honest" Andy Burnham & extremist transphobe Bridget Philippson think that, like most political decisions, their imposition of trans-segregation will quickly be forgotten. It will not. Margaret Thatcher proposed similar discrimination 40 years ago. Oppressive acts live long in memories.

Thatcher: "Kids are being taught that they have an inalienable right to be gay"

Trans rights are WOMEN’S rights! When they come for trans rights, women’s rights are diminished also! We need to remember how powerful unity is. “Inclusive, intersectional feminism is a threat to the powerful; that’s why it’s worth spending so much to try to destroy it” @jennykermode.bsky.social

More than meets the eye: sex, gender and dangerous women

Labour's unworkable approach to policing gender means trouble for everyone – which is exactly what the real enemies of women's rights want
