Last week the LA Times had an article indicating that homelessness is up in Los Angeles but drastically down in the council district of Nithya Raman (where I live). This week she was dropped as the chair on housing and homelessness. It feels vindictive and is another reason to vote out Karen Bass.

The loss of Jackie the eagle is so sad. It means there is one fewer breeding pair in the state. I truly care about such things. 1) My grandparents were avid birders w/ many friends who were experts. 2) My field biology job during undergrad focused on the breeding of the California Gnat Catcher.

Thanks to @amcinematheque.bsky.social and the Director’s Village theatre next to UCLA for the free screening of Project Hail Mary and Q&A with directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. I laughed, and I cried, and sometimes I both laughed and cried. I’ll definitely be watching again.
